• The Montreal Institute for Genocide and Human Rights Studies (MIGS) was founded in 1986, based in the departments of History and Sociology at Concordia University. Its approach is comparative and historical, involving scholars in Canada, France, Great Britain, Israel, and the United States. It collects and disseminates knowledge created by researchers about the historical origins of the mass killings that have become such a prominent part of the twentieth century.
