For those interested in following events in Canada around APEC and
Suharto, here is a list of some handy sites, which may also yield
good pics for future use:

There are daily stories and some good pictures of Suharto and also of East
Timorese activists (Suharto's worst nightmare - Bella Galhos) on the
following sites of the two main newspapers in Vancouver:
The Vancouver Sun can be found at:
The Vancouver Province can be found at:

The Globe and Mail is the *most important* national newspaper in Canada,
which has, of course, barely even glimpsed at our work (so far). If you care
how the establishment is reading about APEC in Canada, it is worth checking out
their page at:

The Toronto Star is another national paper, and they have a couple of
good reporters interested in what we are up to. You can see their page at:

The Canadian Press web site is useful for photos. By clicking on "Today's
Pictures" you can find the numbered "picture gallery," and you can still
view (and download) Alfredo Rodrigues showing his torture scars at
Suharto's trial Part One in Ottawa on November 12. You can get that
picture by clicking on the gallery #5.

If you have a good enough computer, you can view video footage of CBC
Newsworld's national television news coverage events here. You may want
to check this out as Suharto arrives, and on the 24th and 25th of course...

So far, there is footage of the release of the photos in Vancouver, which
aired on Tuesday, November 20, 1997. Just go to CBC Newsworld's web site, and
then do a search for "Suharto" and then you will see that the 5th and 6th items
listed in the search results are the story you're looking for. Click there,
then on the picture of Bella, and if you have the right video player,
you'll see the clip. The clip includes coverage of Vancouver's
tribunal for Suharto, which was held on November 17.
