A correspondent in Mozambique, who wishes to remain anonymous, passed
along this explanation of the Shona word "murungu." ("Murungu" has
spent some time in eastern Africa, by his own account.) The reason why
a white supremacist/separatist uses this as a pseudonym becomes obvious
upon reading. This information was passed along by Cecelia Clancy
(cacst9+@pitt.edu):
...the name "Murungu" in Shona means the same as "muzungo"
in Swahili and "mulungo" in Tsonga. This name exists since the first
people from europa, white peolple came to Africa. Wenn the whites
came, africans did not know were the whites came from. They did not
know how to deal with them, as friends or not. Same people were the
opinion that whites were send by God, that they were an signal from
God or same thing divine and so they called them "murungu", "muzungo"
or "mulungo".
