TEXT:
A man hoping to avoid extradition to the Philippines to face murder
charges in a 1986 assassination won't get a Supreme Court hearing.
The high court dismissed his application yesterday to overturn an Ontario
Court of Appeal ruling that upheld an earlier extradition decision.
It gave no reasons for its decision.
Rodolfo Pacificador was accused of murder after the shooting of a prominent
supporter of former president Corazon Aquino.
Pacificador fled before he could be tried and eventually entered Canada in
October 1987. He immediately claimed refugee status and settled in Toronto.
