Winnipeg Sun April 1, 1996 (12) "Zundel's interest group Joe Lockhart's letter (March 28) cries out for rebuttal. Let's examine a couple of his statements: 1) The push to deport Ernst Zundel is coming from 'special interest groups.' I got news for you, Mr. Lockhart. You and Zundel ARE special interest groups. 2) These groups are pushing for deportation 'because they don't like his opinion.' Zundel's rantings are not 'opinions.' He is actively espousing hate against an identifiable group, which is illegal. 3) You speak of 'immigrant reprobates.' Am I to understand that Zundel was born here? You and I may have been born here, but go back far enough and I guarantee, you will find an immigrant. Everyone living in this country can trace their 'roots' to immigrants (did you know Hitler was an immigrant, Mr. Lockhart -- oh the shame of it all, eh?). 4) Zundel does 'not believe the victors' version of the Second World War.' It's historical fact as documented by BOTH sides. 5) 'Why can (Communists and homosexuals) spew their drivel?' Because they do not 'spew' hate, Mr. Lockhart. Typical of your ilk are the ravings against Jewish community, completely devoid of facts, contained in the last two paragraphs. In closing, Mr. Lockhart, you and I could become friends! I am not an immigrant, I am not Jewish, nor am I Communist or homosexual. And you know what? Since you use the term 'Christian' in your group's name, you obviously subscribe to the monogenetic theory of all human life. Scary thought, eh Joe? Mike Macdonald Winnipeg = 30 =
