Actually, Mr. Lockhart, the quote from Kinsella's "Web of Hate" reads
as follows:

"Christie waded into a group of Jewish Defence League Members.  One
JDL member took a swing at the lawyer, narrowly missing his impressive
jawline. Shaken, Christie complained ...." (1st HarperPerennial ed.
p.92)

While acts of violence are not to be condoned, I am sure that
reasonable readers of this newsgroup will conclude that there is quite
a difference between "taking a swing and narrowly missing" and
"kicking ... in the face with a steel-toed boot."

But then you knew that, didn't you, Mr. Lockhart?

For those who need further proof of the dishonesty of the White
Power Rangers, the ellipses in the above quotation take the place
of the words "barely missing".  In other words, Christie wasn't
struck at all.  

For the record, I heartily condemn the JDL member who took a swing
at Christie; the incident, however, is hardly comparable to the
stomping delivered by Burdi.  Lockhart knew that, and decided to 
conceal the truth in order to make his point.

Or is there some other explanation for this puzzling omission, Joe?
