Jefferson wrote similarly (from my memory):

I, personally, don't think we should deport the blacks but, on the contrary,
make good use of them. That's why they were brought here. Why should white
people do menial labor? I want Jesse Jackson to wash my car and Maya Angeloo
to do my dishes.
