Who needs them _globally_?

Well, Ernst Zuendel does, of course.

I'm not aware that anyone else has been calling for _global_ censorship
on the basis of "hate."  But Ernst Zuendel has been.

How many times must this be repeated?

   The movie generates hatred against Germans, and it should be possible
   to ban it under "hate laws" in Canada, Germany, and other countries. 
   Photocopy and distribute this, and join the worldwide campaign to BAN 
   SCHINDLER'S LIST!

Note that this is a "worldwide" campaign -- Zuendel wants _Schindler_
banned globally.  Which, of course, neatly circumvents the argument that
he was smartly protesting the Canadian hate laws.  One doesn't protest
Canadian laws by invoking similar laws in countries like Malaysia, where
_Schindler_ was indeed banned (for sexual content).

So we have Zuendel calling for global censorship of material he doesn't
like, using "hate laws," so that (in his view) Germans will not be
maligned in public.  Then we have the Zuendelsite sending out
Zuendelgrams which say that it's the _Jews_ who are asking for global
censorship of material they don't like, using "hate laws."

Can anyone imagine _anything_ more hypocritical?

I respect Sabina Citron a lot more than Ernst Zuendel.  At least I know
where she stands.  She's doing exactly the wrong thing, of course, and I
wish I could talk her out of it -- she's doing a lot more harm than
good, and I oppose her pragmatically as well as philosophically.

But darnit, at least she has principles.  At least she doesn't do one
thing and then weasel around with blaming her perceived enemies for
doing exactly the same thing.  At least she stands up for what she
believes in.

Posted.  Emailed to Ernst Zuendel (via Ingrid Rimland) and to
"DvdThomas," of the Committee for Open Debate On the Holocaust, who still
has not weighed in on whether Zuendel is a censor.
