BRADLEY SMITH'S WEBSITE IS SHUT DOWN

	As the first seconds of July 4, 1996 ticked away, the Bradley 
R. Smith / CODOH (Committee for Open Debate on the Holocaust) 
website was shutdown from the World Wide Web.  The Bradley R. Smith 
Website was dedicated to the cause of Free Speech and especially 
encouraged open debate on the topic of the Holocaust.

	Bradley R. Smith had received uninterrupted service from 
Valleynet Communications, his web provider.  Valleynet was recently 
purchased by an eastern company, ProtoSource Corporation.  For 
various reasons the Valleynet name was being dropped and changed to 
ProtoSource Network.  On the morning of July 4th, ProtoSource 
Network shut down the Bradley Smith Website and discontinued 
Smith's email account without notice or explanation.  ProtoSource 
Network's homepage can be accessed at  http://www.psnw.com.

	The Bradley R. Smith website had been instrumental in 
battling censorship of politically incorrect ideas.  The website 
ran a large Censorship page which featured numerous articles on the 
topic of Internet Censorship.  The website was part of the 
Internet's Blue Ribbon Free Speech Campaign.  The website also 
featured the unique ThoughtCrimes Archive which documented 
persecution and hate crimes directed against historical 
revisionists.

	The Website received national attention recently by 
combatting censorship in the United States by posting the 
introduction to British historian, David Irving's controversial 
volume, Goebbels: Mastermind of the Third Reich.  The publication 
of this volume was cancelled by St. Martin's Press after having 
received numerous threats.

	Bradley Smith was also instrumental in making Roger Garaudy's 
maligned volume, The Founding Myths of Israeli Politics available 
for all to read in its original French.  The Bradley R. Smith 
website had just begun the posting of this important work in 
English, the only place in the world where this translation was 
available.  Garaudy is currently under investigation in France for 
having written this volume.

	The latest project to combat international censorship was the 
posting of  Grundlagen zur Zeitgeschichte.  Grundlagen is a 
collaboration by the world's leading revisionists featuring 
scientific documentation which casts doubt on the traditional 
holocaust story.  The editor of this volume was sentenced to 15 
months imprisonment in Germany and a judge recently ruled (June 6, 
1996) that all copies of this book be burned.

	Bradley Smith has been a long time advocate of free speech.  
In 1960-61 he was arrested and convicted for selling Henry Miller's 
Topic of Cancer.

Actually if you read the article below you will see that Broszat 
doesn't say that there were no gas chambers in the Old Reich but 
that there were no gassings.

Please check Dr. Martin Broszat's letter in the Hamburg weekly Die 
Zeit under the headline "Keine Vergasung in Dachau" ("No Gassing in 
Dachau").  It appeared in the German edition of August 19, 1960 and 
in the US edition of August 26, 1960 (p.14).

The article in its entirety will be available on the NEW CODOH 
site.  I'll let you know the URL as soon as we get back on line.  
For now here's the excerpt in question - (that mentioning "the Old 
Reich."

"Neither in Dachau nor in Bergen-Belsen nor in Buchenwald were Jews 
or other prisoners gassed.  The gas chamber in Dachau was never 
entirely finished or put 'into operation.'  Hundreds of thousands 
of prisoners who perished in Dachau and other concentration camps 
in the Old Reich were victims, above all, of the catastrophic 
hygienic and provisioning conditions: according to official SS 
statistics, during the twelve months ffrom July 1942 through June 
1943 alone, 110,812 persons died of disease and hunger in all of 
the concentration camps of the Reich.  The mass exterminations of 
the Jews by gassing began in 1941-1942 and occurred exclusively in 
a few facilities selected and equipped with appropriate technical 
installations, above all in the occupied Polish territory (but at 
no place in the Old Reich): in Auschwitz-Birkenau, in Sobibor on 
the Bug, in Treblinka, Chelmno and Belzec."

In the Sunday, January 24, 1993 edition of the Stars and Stripes, 
(note: four years after the volume cited by Mr. McCarthy in a 
recent post.) Mr. Simon Wiesenthal commented on the Dachau gas 
chamber.

Now, before I reproduce (a portion) of that quote, I will merely 
point out the Mr. Wiesenthal made a similar comment in 1975 which 
was published in Books and Bookmen.  Wiesenthal later (May 1986) 
repudiated his claim.

All that aside this is the latest comments by Wiesenthal regarding 
Dachau and a few other camps.  I quote it partially.  Those 
interested int eh entire letter should check "The Stars and Stripes 
of Jan. 24, 1993) or Mr. McCarthy should check his copy of "The 
Journal of Historical Review, Vol. XIII, Number 3, May/June 1993.
