As you may have heard on the grapevine, as it were, I am currently =
preparing additions/revisions to the third edition of my book.

The most significant change, for the purposes of this note, is a new =
chapter on the internet - which, at the time of my book's publication, was =
only in its infancy.

What I am most interested in - and, if you are at all interested in =
proceeding, we can certainly communicate through e-mail - is what, =
precisely, persuaded you that you should invest in the new internet =
technologies (time, money, etc.) when others did not?  It obviously was =
the right decision for you.  What, however, attracted you to this new =
technology?

We can discuss other matters that may occur to one or both of us, if that =
is convenient.  But I am very interested in a question I have posed to =
others: namely, why did you take a gamble on the WWW?  As we all know, it =
was the right thing to do, and it has given you a larger global audience.  =
But what persuaded you to make the gamble?

I realize you are preoccupied with other matters, and that I am undoubtedly=
 not someone you would normally wish to help out.  But if it is at all =
helpful, I can pledge to provide you with the relevant transcripts in =
advance, in order that you may confirm the accuracy of the information and =
quotations therein.

I look forward to hearing from you at your convenience.
