There is a national, German language newspaper, published in
Washington DC.  Weekly, $40 a year.  Start reading it.  Easy to 
do because you probably know much of the subject matter.  Great
practice.

Dutch is my problem.  I can made do in German.  With German and
English together I can figure out Dutch, usually.  I use Lexica,
but it is an old DOS program, and I have to do the irregular verbs 
myself.
