Here we get into not only semantics but also epistemology. If by "science" one means the most widely taught "orthodox" science, then science is close to being a mongolian idiot concerning the mystery of life. Allopathic physicians, for instance, treat human sickness as if it were a malfunction of a machine, a malfunction that can be successfully treated by changing the oil and reinflating the tires so to speak. When this level of mentation doesn't work wonders the patient is declared incurable and kept semi-alive until broke and/or dead, whichever comes first. Every medical doctor is aware of the term "the placebo effect" but none wish to discuss it. The Japanese have been trying to produce artificial intelligence by studying the "hardwiring" of the 312 neurons of the nematode. Meanwhile, the nematode (I am sure) is ROTFLHAO. The problem with orthodox science is that it tries to encompass a phenomenon that has as many variables and elements as does the observer. But understanding requires *at least* one more element on the part of the observer than possesses that which is observed. > >> How could have death produced life ??? Only if life is essentially a non-physical field, something orthodox science will never accept. > >"And we are gradually learning how nonliving matter could have produced > > life. Only in your own mind, not in reality. Read, for instance, a book orthodox science trashed, A NEW SCIENCE OF LIFE by Rupert Sheldrake, to understand why orthodox scince with its "scientific method" is forever proscribed from understanding the nature of life. > > Why not ask again in another 50 years instead of implying that > > being in the process of learning means that the answer is unlearnable, > > or that the answer not being known yet means that *your* answer must > > be correct?" It is not necessary to wait for 50 years to understand that if water is poured into the gasoline tank the engine will not run. The entire Cartesian concept of orthodox science is not equal to the task. Period. H. Ayre. Try reading, for instance, THE FIRE THIS TIME by Ramsey Clark, former U.S. Attorney-General, concerning the Gulf War. We ruthlessly (and joyously) killed hundreds of thousands. I begin to wonder if the Gulf War Syndrome, caused by the pills and shots the American troops were forced to take, was a sort of Divine Retribution for an American moral trespass become too heavy to hide or to contain. What you are saying is that the mass media, acting as an entity, would rally to the defense of CNN and against the Clinton administration. They would do that because CNN belonged to the "Fourth Estate" and as such was untouchable by any political force. This is a fairly stupid assumption, IMHO. I find it much more likely that the mass media would do exactly what they have done innumerable times in the past concerning a subject they don't want to publicize: THEY WOULD SAY NOTHING. They have been saying nothing about so many things for so very long that I thought everyone understood by now that this was a recognized and approved means of dealing with a sticky widget on the part of the mass media. CNN, as a minority of one in this case, is way out on a cracked limb. Since when did the majority of the mass media give a blue damn about the truth or objectivity? H. Ayre. But, according to a number of well-written, well-researched, copiously annotated books by health professionals, HIV is not the primary cause of AIDS. It may not be a cause at all. AIDS is a catch-all designation for a number of opportunistic diseases that a person can catch (and die from) *when the immune system has collapsed.* Thus, it is the collapse of the immune system that should be the primary focus of attention. Research has it that the long-term use of drugs, many different sorts of drugs, can cause this collapse of the immune system. Homosexuals, particularly "fast-track" homosexuals, are often just that, long-term users of drugs. Why? Who knows? Perhaps because they are the kind of people who dare to do something that is not generally socially condoned, and for that reason tend also to take drugs which is also not publicly condoned. Some drugs heighten sexual awareness and pleasure, which homosexuals aregreatly concerned with. But even chronic malnutrition can cause a collapse of the immune system, something that happens in Africa more than in North America. In any case, the introduction of foreign protein matter (semen) into the body is a serious matter and will provoke a respo0nse from the immune system. Too much of that, in conjunction with other abuses of the immune system, and presto! you have "AIDS." Read, for instance, AIDS: THE HIV MYTH by Jad Adams, St. Martin's Press, 1989, ISBN 0-312-02859-8. Also, use your search engine on AIDS, Duesberg, etc. H. Too much of that, in conjunction with other abuses of the immune system, and presto! you have "AIDS."
