1935

The first Ordinance supplementing the "Blutschutzgesetz"  (Law for the
Protection of German Blood and German Honor") leads to the prohibition
of marriages between Jews and "persons of mixed blood in the second
degree."  (Ruerup, 112)

1943

Following the establishment of a German-sponsored Italian
Socialist Republic under Mussolini in northern Italy, an
Italian Fascist Party concference declares that "members of
the Jewish race are aliens" and are to be considered as
"members of an enemy nation." Meanwhile, at Ferrara, a
Fascist militia unit kills eleven hostages, including four
Jews. (USHMM, 1993, p. 50-51)

1944

In Jergovo, Slovakia, sixty Gypsies (Roma) from the town of
Neresnica, including women and children, are burned when the
barn where they are imprisoned is doused with gasoline and
set on fire. (USHMM, 1994, p. 67)
