1942

Jews from the ghetto Mizoc are slaughtered by SS
Einsatzkommandos and buried in a mass grave. (Goldhagen, 154)

1943

Six hundred Jewish prisoners, led by a Soviet-Jewish POW,
attack German guards at Sobibor and attempt to break out of
the concentration camp. Eleven SS men and several Ukrainians
are killed, and three hundred prisoners succeed in getting
beyond the camp's barbed wire fence, but two hundred of them
are killed soon afterwards. The Germans subsequently decide
to liquidate Sobibor, where approximately 250,000 Jews had
been killed, and by the end of 1943 the camp is leveled.
