The Secret Field Police and Major Franz Lechthaler's 11th. Reserve
Police Battalion shot 641 people near Uzlany-Rudensk. Victims were
described as "a Red Army man, a politruk (political officer of the Red Army), 9
partisans, and 630 suspicious elements, Communists and Jews." (Hillberg,
Perpetrators, 63)
1943
All remaining Jews -- 816 individuals -- in the Liepaja
ghetto in Latvia are transferred to the Kaiserwald
concentration camp near Riga. (USHMM, 1993, p. 48)
