1940

SS-Oberfuehrer Gluecks informed Himmler that the former
Polish artillery barracks at Oswiecim, after the addition
of some sanitary equipment and certain construction 
modifications, would be suitable as a quarantine camp. The 
camp could be put into immediate operation upon the conclusion
of negotiations with the Wehrmacht over the use of the 
buildings. (Czech, et. al, pp. 119-20)

1944

Two hundred sixty Jewish prisoners are transferred from
Plaszow concentration camp near Cracow to Auschwitz-Birkenau.
